Position summary

The APVMA’s Registration Manageent program is seeking to fill two Case Manager positions for an initial period of 12 months , with the possibility of extension.

The program manages the pre-market evaluation and registration of pesticides and veterinary medicines. The program draws on scientific evaluation and uses a risk-based approach to determine the safety and efficacy of Agvet products. In addition to product evaluation, responsibilities include granting permits, certificates of export and import consents and managing enquiries for pesticides and veterinary medicines.

Under limited direction, the Case Manager will use exceptional communication, administration, and project management skills to:

Contribute to the pre-market assessment of agvet chemical products.

Manage the processing of applications submitted to the APVMA through the registration process, evaluating and processing some non-technical applications and the co-ordination of stakeholder meetings.

Contribute to the development of APVMA policy and guidelines.

The position occupant will utilise their well-developed organisational and administration skills to assist with processing tasks to achieve results within specific timeframes and with a focus on client service. They will also possess effective time management and prioritisation skills, and work cooperatively with each other, external reviewers, applicants, and other stakeholders.

Case Managers are also required to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the APVMA’s operational policy and legislative framework, and apply this to perform a range of administrative, technical, and operational tasks.

Key responsibilities may include:
Assess non-technical applications against the requirements of the Agvet Code and make recommendations to the decision maker.

Prepare correspondence of a complex nature and contribute to the preparation of briefs, manuals, reports, guidelines, and policies.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues in an appropriate and timely manner.

Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Ensure knowledge of, and compliance with, legislative frameworks and agency guidelines.

Interpret legislation, guidelines, and requirements to make decisions/recommendations and provide advice using sound judgement, expertise, and knowledge.

Adherence to confidential commercial information (CCI) provisions.

To be considered for these roles you will need:
Essential:
Well-developed organisational and planning skills, including the ability to show initiative, prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes during periods of high demand.

Highly developed oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail that can be applied to the preparation of a range of written documents and reports.

Ability to liaise, negotiate and build networks with staff, clients, and service providers effectively and professionally, including the ability to resolve difficult client interactions.

Experience in performing administrative tasks associated with data entry and managing large volumes of data, application processing.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and under limited direction to achieve business outcomes.
